Welcome to Doctor’s Orders Art!
Photography has been a hobby of mine for years. While I am still very much an enthusiastic amateur, my work has noticeably changed over the last several years. Some of the change is technique, “…practice, practice, practice!” * More of the change is a reflection of how much I have energetically changed and grown over the last twenty-plus years (Thank you, Drs. Loren and Diane Mickelson!). The deeper levels of observation help me find the light I want, the angle needed to get the image that it caught my eye, how the scene was put together. These are some of the common threads also in play when I work with my Chiropractic patients and when I am doing the Orchid Mist Healing (c) work.
My style of photography most closely fits into what is known as “Heartography”, or taking pictures from the heart. I am learning more every day about the technical side of taking a photograph, which does help me get the picture I’m seeking more often. Still, when what initially caught my eye matches what is in view finder–the correct angle, the light hitting just so, the colors, the clarity of the textures–it makes my heart sing.
* Liz’s (Mary McDonnell) instructions to a piano student in the movie “Sneakers”–one of my guilty pleasure movies.
